I wear this as a coat and was advised to purchase a small as I didn't need this to be too roomy. As a rule I'd wear a 14/16 even then this is quite roomy so you could wear warm clothes underneath but you really don't need to. This is such a lovely warm coat, I love it. Snug as a bug in a rug.
