ENVIRO-FLAME charging me for part and service not carried out

Initially, I reached out to them for a quote, and they promptly provided me with a detailed breakdown of the service, including the need for a new pilot light and fitting. However, upon the engineer's arrival, I was pleasantly surprised when he informed me that my fire did not require a new pilot light, contrary to what was initially quoted. Despite this, the company insisted that the engineer leave the part with me. Following this, I expressed my concerns via email and requested a refund for the unnecessary part and its fitting, along with VAT. Regrettably, the company declined my request, leaving me feeling disheartened and disappointed.
