No integrity – don’t trust them

My review for 1800contacts.com I ordered 8 boxes of 90-day packs of my daily contact Rx. When I submitted this order and paid, it said I qualified for a $70 rebate and that a link to do this would be sent with the shipping confirmation. I took a screenshot of when the order was submitted, where it confirmed the 90-day packs and the rebate, and I also received email confirmation of this order. I received a shipping confirmation that had the link to the rebate as well. I later received an email stating that my contacts, specifically listing the 90-day packs that I ordered, had arrived. I picked them up and they are 30-day packs. I tried to go on through the link to obtain the rebate that all the communication I had received thus far states I qualify for, and it says that there is no rebate for this order. So, I called customer service. They proceeded to tell me that there is no rebate for the 30-day packs. I told them that I had ordered the 90-day packs and they proceeded to tell me they don’t make 90-day packs for my prescription. At no point through the order process did I receive email or phone communication from them notifying me that I would not be able to get what I ordered, and that the 30-day packs I could get won’t qualify for the rebate I was led to believe by them I would receive. I attempted to express this to the customer service employee and supervisor I spoke to, and they continued to reiterate to me that the 90 packs don’t exist and there therefore isn’t a rebate for the 30 packs I got despite the fact that my ability to grasp those concepts after hearing them say it the first time was not the problem. They told me they could coordinate a return label and refund the product if I don’t want them, which also is not the problem as I’m going to need these to see anyway. The problem is that they failed to provide communication and provided false information to a customer, limiting the customer’s ability to make an informed decision about their purchase. Obviously I wanted them to honor the $70 rebate or refund me that amount due to their shortcomings around this whole situation, but it’s not even about the money. It’s about their total lack of willingness on the phone to take accountability for that and acknowledge they were in the wrong. I offered to show them all the emails I’ve received from them and they were not interested in viewing those - apparently receipts mean nothing. Disappointed - I recommend buying from somewhere with more integrity and more customer service skills and won’t be going through them again.
