My Experience with avis.se was terrible, to say the least. I strongly advise against booking a car rental with Avis. Their lack of communication and unprofessionalism has left me extremely dissatisfied. I arrived at the Kiruna airport at 11:30 am for a 12:00 pm pickup, only to find the location closed without any prior notice. The neighboring Hertz location informed me that Avis staff only come when called, and upon reaching them, I was told they were on lunch until 12:30. This was not mentioned anywhere, and the lack of transparency was frustrating. When a representative finally arrived at 1:00 pm, there was a complete absence of apology or acknowledgment of their mistake. The car was not readily available, covered in snow and ice, requiring my own cleaning efforts. Upon returning the car at the station as agreed, there was no designated parking lot, causing me to miss my train to Stockholm. The customer service representative's unprofessional behavior and lack of empathy only added insult to injury. This entire experience with Avis was a stark contrast to the exceptional service I've received from Hertz and Sixt in the past. I regret not heeding the warning from the Hertz representative who warned me against booking with Avis. I will never make the mistake of choosing Avis again and will instead opt for a stress-free rental experience with Hertz or Sixt. After a series of frustrating attempts to contact someone, a rude and unapologetic staff member finally showed up at 12:45 pm, only to provide subpar and indifferent service. The car I was given was covered in snow and ice, and I had to clean it myself. Furthermore, the lack of clear instructions regarding where to park the car and drop off the keys at the train station caused me to miss my connecting train, resulting in additional expenses for a last-minute flight. The final straw was the appalling behavior of the Avis representative at the airport location, who not only refused to acknowledge my grievances but also demonstrated unprofessionalism by hurling insults at me. This entire experience has left me deeply dissatisfied, and I will heed the advice I received from a Hertz representative about not choosing Avis in the future. I truly had the worst car rental experience of my life, and it has solidified my decision to never book with Avis again.
