Costa Firenze ab Kiel

I am thrilled to share my experience with costakreuzfahrten.at. My family and I booked an 8-day cruise inclusive of flights in January. The anticipation was high as we prepared to embark on a wonderful journey. Traveling from Vienna to Hamburg and then to Kiel, we encountered an unexpected flight cancellation which led to chaos and confusion at the airport. Despite the distressing start to our trip, the reassurance from Costa that the ship would wait for us brought relief. However, upon our arrival in Hamburg after numerous delays, we were informed that the ship had departed. After prolonged negotiations, we were provided accommodation at a hotel near the airport, albeit with separate rooms. Although we were promised a bus transfer to the next port in Copenhagen the next day, the extensive delay left us with minimal time to explore the city upon our belated arrival. Most disappointing was the lack of apology or compensation from Costa for the distress and inconvenience caused. Despite forwarding our complaints, the response from Costa merely offered a credit for a future cruise and dismissed our grievances with statements beyond their control. This unsatisfactory experience was shared by at least 100 others, leaving us feeling abandoned and unsupported during this ordeal. Despite these extraordinary challenges, the onboard staff in the restaurants, bars, and housekeeping exceeded our expectations. Regrettably, the lack of communication and support from Costa marred our overall experience. It is distressing to recount the disheartening start to our journey, for which I can only award one star. The negligence and lack of accountability regarding our travel arrangements overshadowed the enjoyable moments we had on board. Our hope for a seamless and memorable journey was marred by the unfortunate mishandling of our travel logistics. Costa's oversight and dismissive response profoundly impacted our otherwise delightful experience.

While onboard, we were impressed with the exceptional service provided by the restaurant and bar staff, as well as the cleaning crew. However, the lack of adequate support and information during the travel disruptions was deeply disappointing. Despite numerous complaints, the response from COSTA regarding the hardships we faced was unsatisfactory, leaving us feeling neglected and frustrated. It is essential for a reputable travel organizer to take responsibility for the smooth execution of all travel arrangements and to provide genuine support to their customers in challenging situations. Despite these significant challenges, we managed to find joy and relaxation during our time on the ship, creating special memories and cherishing the overall experience. As a result of the outstanding service onboard and the dedication of the ship's staff, we were able to salvage a pleasant cruise experience amidst the initial turmoil. However, it is clear that improvements are needed in the handling of unforeseen circumstances and the support provided to customers during travel disruptions. Therefore, based on the overall experience and the exceptional service onboard, I would rate our cruise experience with COSTA as deserving of more than one star.
