A while back, I enthusiastically purchased an Ecotric Bison, eager to explore the outdoors and embrace a more sustainable mode of transportation. However, my excitement soon turned into frustration when, after just under 18 months of use, my bike abruptly stopped during a ride, displaying an ominous Code 30 error message. Eager to address the issue promptly, I reached out to their technical team, who diagnosed the problem as a burnt controller. They promptly sent me a new controller and a display unit to connect to it, instructing me to perform the installation myself. Following their directions meticulously, I was able to resume riding for a mere 60 miles before encountering the same Code 30 error once again. At this juncture, unfortunately, I found myself outside the warranty period. Despite my best efforts and numerous exchanges with Ecotric's customer service team based in China (as their California center was no longer reachable by phone), I was informed that the issue likely stemmed from a faulty hub motor. Regrettably, Ecotric declined to cover the necessary repairs, attributing the malfunction to a component not covered under warranty. This experience was undeniably frustrating and disappointing. Despite my initial enthusiasm for Ecotric's products, the lack of support and warranty coverage left me disillusioned. The inability to rectify the situation and the reluctance to stand behind their product has certainly made me question their long-term viability as a company.
