Having been loyal users of Goto for several years, we were taken aback to discover an unsettling truth about their billing practices. Although we discontinued our services approximately five years ago, our recent realization that we had been continuously billed for two licenses over the past five years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) without any forewarning has left us greatly disappointed. The absence of any form of communication regarding these charges, such as advance notifications or even post-transaction confirmations, has led to deep-seated concerns about the transparency and integrity of their billing system. Upon reaching out to address this issue, we were met with further frustration as Goto acknowledged that they do not notify customers of upcoming or executed charges. Additionally, they confess to being unable to provide usage records for accounts that have been dormant for an extended period, rendering their justification for these charges even more questionable. Despite confirming that neither account had been utilized for years, they adamantly refused to refund or cancel one of the charges, citing an invalid email address associated with a domain that ceased to exist in 2019. Furthermore, our attempts to seek reimbursement for the years in which charges were surreptitiously processed without our knowledge were met with staunch resistance. Goto’s steadfast refusal to acknowledge our previous cancellation from nearly five years prior, attributing it to the unavailability of historical records, only added to the disheartening experience. In light of these disconcerting revelations, it is our firm belief that Goto should not only refund the recent charge on the same credit card but also rectify their previous oversights by reimbursing the charges from 2019 to 2022.
