An Exceptionally Frustrating Experience with Missing Parts and Appalling Customer Service
My order of the Celestron 6.5 SE telescope, along with additional lenses and a SkyWIfi module, turned out to be an ordeal I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. After enduring months of agonizing anticipation and persistent follow-ups for basic ETAs, the package that eventually arrived was a cruel joke. Half of the promised items were missing - no cables for computer connection, no DVD software, and not even the power charging cable or the additional lenses I had paid for. The disappointment was palpable as I had been eagerly looking forward to immersing myself in the galaxy with my new telescope, only to be met with such a disheartening setback. My attempt to seek clarification from the customer service team only added insult to injury, as they provided conflicting and confusing responses. Initially, I was informed that the SkyFi module was back-ordered, but moments later, another representative boldly stated that it had already been shipped. No plausible explanation was given for the missing cables and DVD software, leaving me feeling utterly dejected and disillusioned. As an amateur astronomer, this distressing experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. Rather than receiving the support and reassurance I had hoped for, the customer service team callously shrugged off their responsibility, redirecting me to the manufacturer for resolution. This bewildering and unsympathetic response only served to compound my frustration and disappointment. I found myself questioning why I was paying HighPoint Scientific when I was being tasked with pursuing missing parts from the manufacturer on my own. The protracted wait and the harrowing encounters with this company have left an indelible mark on my enthusiasm for stargazing. The thought that such a lackluster approach to customer service could threaten the longevity of a company like HighPoint Scientific is certainly not lost on me. If only they could grasp that their future viability hinges on providing even a modicum of customer support.
