As an international patient who was involved in a road traffic accident, the surgery was successful, but the aftermath was overwhelming. The administrative demands for payment and the lack of communication with my insurance company were distressing. Despite having an international liaison, the confusion persisted. Despite our trust in the medical professionals, they failed to uphold their duty to save a life. My mother fought for 14 long hours, hoping to recover and return home to her family. We trusted the doctors and believed in their abilities, but they shattered our faith and left us devastated. It's a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone else. Our lives were forever changed when we sought help for my young brother's liver transplant, placing our trust in the renowned Dr. A S Soin. What transpired was beyond our worst nightmares, and it has taken immense courage to revisit and share our ordeal. Upon the physician's encouraging assurances, we had hope for a new beginning. However, our optimism soon turned to despair as the promised transplant never materialized, and we tragically lost my brother on February 23rd. Throughout this tumultuous time, Dr. Soin was conspicuously absent from my brother's side, neglecting his duty of care even during the most critical moments. It was only after our persistent demands that he made a brief appearance in the ICU, demonstrating a distressing lack of attentiveness and compassion. On that fateful day, when we were informed of my brother's deteriorating condition, desperation led us to seek solace from Dr. Soin. Instead, we were met with hostility and callousness, as he callously reprimanded and dismissed our pleas. The evident absence of internal communication within the hospital further exacerbated our anguish, as junior staff assumed critical roles in the ICU, further compromising the quality of care. However, what truly compounded our distress was the hospital's avaricious practices. It is unfathomable that such a revered institution would prioritize financial gain over human life, perpetuating an egregious betrayal of the Hippocratic Oath. My fervent plea to anyone seeking medical care is to exercise utmost caution when considering Medanta Hospital. We had been seeking a second opinion for my mom's Navel Displacement symptoms that closely resembled IBS-M. After consulting multiple gastroenterologists, we were advised to seek advice from a Psychiatrist or Psychologist. I was initially skeptical, but I decided to book an appointment with Dr. Akanksha Batra at Medanta. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted, and after a brief conversation about my background, my mom was asked to undergo some psychological tests. Being apprehensive, I communicated that my mom had done similar tests before, but the assistant explained the need for clarity in the results. Despite my initial reservations, we proceeded, and the tests were carried out. During the follow-up appointment, Dr. Akanksha attentively listened to my mom's concerns and carefully reviewed the test results. Although she clarified that she didn't specialize in IBS, she recommended further consultation with a gastroenterologist for accurate guidance.
